COLLEGE ADVISOR/FOUNDER 5L COLLEGE CONSULTING, LLC
After hiring someone to help my oldest son apply to college I believed that the process was missing that special attention to details that only a mom would know. It needed more personalization for each family. So I set out on a mission to help students through the often daunting process of applying to college, the way a mother would - if the mother was a professional.
As an independent educational consultant I have helped hundreds of families over the last 15 years by guiding them along the college admissions journey. (Yes, that includes hand-holding, cheerleading, off the cuff therapy sessions and reminders to take deep breaths!)
Most importantly, using the skills I learned as an Advertising/Public Relations major at Boston University and my love of storytelling, I’ve created a comprehensive program to help high school students develop a unique picture of who they are so that they can find and be admitted to the perfect fit college where they will shine!
Mother of 3 amazing adult children and bonus mom to 2 beautiful daughters-in-law, married to my high school sweetheart, and devoted dog mom to my puggle Baxter - I am best known to all as COLLEGE MARNI!
As a lifelong lover of writing and reading, Ryan has worked with students, amateurs, and professionals to help improve their writing skills and share their stories. In 2018, he graduated from New York University with a Master's Degree in Creative Writing. While studying, he worked at the Knopf publishing imprint and learned from some of the best fiction and nonfiction editors working today. Ryan also taught writing to first-year students at NYU and York College. In 2019, he was chosen as a fellow for the NYU Veteran Writers Workshop, where he was lucky enough to teach a remarkable group of U.S. combat veterans. Ryan spends most of his free time with his family, playing hockey and pursuing his own fiction writing.
Nicole has always possessed a deep love of learning and reading. She graduated from Rutgers University with a Master’s Degree in Secondary Social Studies Education. She later earned another teaching certificate in Special Education and a Writing Endorsement Certificate with the National Writing Project at Rutgers University. After ten years of teaching in the classroom, Nicole resigned to spend more time with her young children. Nicole has been working for Marni since 2016. She enjoys spending time with her family in the great outdoors, hiking, camping and visiting local parks. She also likes to practice yoga, read, sew, and plan trips to Disney World (after early action deadlines, of course!)
Jacqui Levine, Marni's niece and Executive Assistant, graduated from Ohio State University with a BS in Psychology and is about to complete her Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) in School Psychology degree at Rider University. Soon to become a School Psychologist, Jacqui is also a Registered Yoga Teacher/Certified Personal Trainer. She is greatly looking forward to combining her passion for movement with her love of education in order to promote holistic wellness and optimal performance for all of her students. When she's not working, some of Jacqui's favorite things to do are laughing and making memories with her incredible family and friends, cooking, and listening to music on the beach.
